Runners around the country know that Easter is time for the Stawell Gift, but January is becoming known for the Fleurieu Gift since it began in 2019.
The third annual Fleurieu Milk Gift will run on Saturday 23 January at Victor Harbor Oval from 1-5pm.
Tight finances due to COVID-19 had put this year’s Gift at risk, but a one-off donation of $3000 from the City of Victor Harbor helped save the day.
Organised by the South Australian Athletic League, the Fleurieu Milk Gift will include 13 races ranging from 70m sprints to 1600m.
There is free entry for spectators who want to watch the state’s elite runners compete for prize money totalling $10,000 in this colourful event.
