The SA Country Football Championships are being held tomorrow (10 July) and Sunday (11 July) at Victor Harbor and Encounter Bay.
The competition commenced in 1994 and brings together players and officials from 23 regional leagues across South Australia, as well as Broken Hill. Following the rapid growth of women’s football, in 2018 the Championships welcomed women’s teams to compete for the first time.
The competing zones are Central, Eastern, Eyre Peninsula, Murray South East, Northern and Southern Districts. The Men's round robin matches commence at 9.00am at Encounter Bay tomorrow while the Women's round robin matches will also commence at 9.00am tomorrow at Victor Harbor. The Women's championship match will be played at Victor Harbor at 11.15am Sunday with the Men's championship match getting underway at 1.00pm on Sunday.
As an added bonus to the weekend of football, a SANFL match between South Adelaide and Adelaide will be played at 2.30pm tomorrow at Victor Harbor.
