Safer Internet Day with SAPOL

Two cybercrime awareness seminars will be held on the south coast for World Safer Internet Day on Tuesday 7 February.

Sgt Dave Mitchell from South Australia Police (SAPOL) Cybercrime Prevention Section will be at Goolwa library in the morning and at Victor Harbor library on the afternoon.

He will share the latest scams affecting South Australians along with prevention advice, tips and tricks to help avoid falling victim.

Safer Internet Day is a global event that brings together communities, families, schools and organisations from more than 200 countries to help create safer online spaces.

This worldwide initiative is celebrating 20 years in 2023, making it a great time to reflect as well as look forward.

Technology has evolved dramatically in the past two decades and the benefits have been huge, but that also comes with risks, making online safety awareness even more important.

SAPOL is committed to working in partnership with the community to prevent crime and reduce the fear of crime to ensure that South Australia is a safe place to live, visit and do business.

The 90-minute seminars are free to attend. The Goolwa session is from 10.30am to 12noon; register via Eventbrite. The Victor Harbor session is from 1pm to 2.30pm; register via Eventbrite
