Western Districts has won their second ‘A’ Grade premiership in three years and their 13th overall with a tough 15-point win over Parndana at Kingscote. The final score was 11.12 (78) to 10.3 (63). Western Districts had finished as minor premier and won a tight second semi-final against Parndana by five points to advance to their third consecutive Grand Final. Parndana had bounced back from that tight loss in week one of the finals to win the Preliminary Final against Wisanger by 27 points to enter the decider with confidence.
For the premiers Elijah Whale kicked three goals with Tim Larcombe and Josh Graham kicking two each. Matthew Kelly, Imran Sullivan and Nathan Trethewey all kicked two goals for Parndana. Western Districts’ Josh Graham was named best on ground and he was well supported by Cameron Florance, Damon Weatherspoon, Henry Riggs and Rhys Bullard. Parndana were best served by Jaan Kuchel, Mahaki Edwards, Bailey Gaskin, Trad McMulkin and Ben Gaskin.
It was a big sporting day for the Saints with the Netball Club taking out five premierships as well.
