Reigning premier Western Districts won their 23rd consecutive match to wrap up the minor premiership after defeating Wisanger by 38 points during round 11 action in the Kangaroo Island Football League (KIFL) at Gosse yesterday. The Saints won every quarter on their way to an 8.8 (56) to 2.6 (18) victory. Jordan Whittle kicked four goals in a best-on-ground display for Western Districts, while Brad Crabb kicked two majors. Other good players for the Saints included Joshua Graham, Timothy Larcombe, Billy Brind and Caleb Whittle. Best players for the Panthers were Timmy Turner, Jason Fryar, Nicholas Berry, Nick Shurven and Dylan Pearce.
Kingscote won their third game of the season after defeating Parndana by 45 points at Parndana. Kingscote’s win was built on a seven-goal second-quarter blitz which saw them lead by 44 points at the main break. Each team kicked four goals in the second half as Kingscote ran out winners 13.8 (86) to 6.5 (41). Lachie Ingerson kicked four goals for the Hounds, while Isaac Trethewey slotted three majors for the Roosters. Paul Green, Jordan Connell, Blake Florance, Zak Siemer and Rory Lovering were named best for Kingscote. Parndana was best served by Zach Trethewey, Trad McMulkin, Eli Kuchel, Dalton Gribble and Isaac Trethewey.
