Saints on the march in Kangaroo Island Football

Western Districts have shown they will be a force to reckoned with as they continued their unbeaten start to the season following a convincing 52-point win against reigning premier Wisanger during round three action in the Kangaroo Island Football League (KIFL) yesterday. The game was tight in the first half as Western Districts took a 15-point lead to the long break. The Saints opened up in the second half to kick 111 goals to five and win 16.10 (106) to 8.6 (54). Bradley Crabb kicked three goals in a best-on-ground performance, while Joel Cross also kicked three for the Saints. Luke Shurven kicked a game-high four goals for Wisanger. Joining Crabb in the best players for Western Districts were Lachlan Florance, Damon Weatherspoon, Tye Boyle and Lleyton Hedges. Best for the Panthers were Dusty Cross, Liam Sampson, Sam Snowball, Jordan Ackland and Jason Fryar. 


Parndana won their first game of the season with a comfortable 72-point win against Dudley United on Saturday. The Roosters had eight different goalkickers with Nathan Trethewey (5), James Davis (3) and Ben Gaskin (3) the multiple goalkickers. Clayton Willson played a lone hand up forward for Dudley United as he kicked all four of his team’s goals. Jack Sexton, Zach Trethewey, Jaan Kuchel, Will Stanton and Nathan Trethewey were named best for Parndana. Sam McLeay, Clayton Willson and Nathan Dickson were among the Eagles’ best. 


Kingscote had the bye.
