Saints & Panthers play out a thriller in Kangaroo Island Football

Western Districts stayed undefeated after holding on to win a thriller by three points against Wisanger during round seven action in the Kangaroo Island Football League (KIFL) yesterday. Western Districts led by 20 points at three-quarter time, before Wisanger kicked 3.5 to 1.0 in the final term, but ultimately came up short as the Saints won 11.12 (78) to 10.15 (75). Lleyton Hedges kicked six goals for Western Districts, while Khyal Stead slotted four majors for Wisanger. Best players for the Saints included Rhys Bullard, Dylan Lockett, Sam Jonas, Jordan Whittle and Wade Tucker. Best for Wisanger were Liam Sampson, Luke Shurven, Jesse Rule, Darcy Kildea and Brok Viney-Obst.


Kingscote won their second game of the season with a comfortable 76-point win at Parndana. Kingscote led by 38 points at halftime, before kicking five unanswered goals in the second half to win 12.18 (90) to 2.2 (14). Lachie Ingerson kicked seven goals in a best-on-ground performance for Kingscote, while James Davis and Cameron Stewart kicked the goals for Parndana. Joining Ingerson in Kingscote’s best players were Zak Edwards, Paul Green, Anthony Anderson and Frank Colman. Eli Kuchel, Jed Bald, Jaan Kuchel, Zach Trethewey and Bailey Mashford were named best for Parndana.


 Dudley United had the bye.
