Saints' premiership favourites in Kangaroo Island Football

Western Districts moved two games clear on top of the ladder following their 51-point win against Wisanger during round eight action in the Kangaroo Island Football League (KIFL) yesterday. Western Districts have only lost once this season, while reigning premier Wisanger are sitting in second place, so it was expected to be a close match. The Saints had other ideas as they won comfortably 18.10 (118) to 10.7 (67). Lleyton Hedges kicked five goals in a best-on-ground performance for Western Districts, while Sam Clifford and Jackson Lockett kicked three goals each for the Panthers. Other good players for Western Districts included Joel Cross, Tate Barrett, Brad Crabb and Jack Favilla. Best for Wisanger included Dusty Cross, Patrick Hure and Jayden Kingi.


Parndana won their third game of the season with a 59-point win against Dudley United at Penneshaw yesterday. The Roosters moved up to third spot on the ladder, while the Eagles are still in search of their maiden victory for 2022. The final scores were Parndana 14.17 (101) to Dudley United 6.6 (42). James Davis (5), Trad McMulkin (3) and Zach Trethewey (3) were the leading goalkickers for Parndana, while Clayton Willson, Kyrrell Barton and Trae Lovering kicked two goals each for Dudley United. Best players for Parndana were Frank May, Trethewey, McMulkin, Patrick Skeer and Ben Gaskin. Best for Dudley United included Sam McLeay, Lovering and Clayton Willson.
