Saints through to GF in Kangaroo Island Football

Minor premier Western Districts are through to the Kangaroo Island Football League (KIFL) Grand Final after defeating Wisanger by 49 points on Saturday. The first half was tight with the Saints leading by 11 points at the long break. The third quarter would prove the difference as Western Districts kicked six goals to one to lead by 42 points at the last change. A further two goals to one in the final quarter saw the Saints win 13.14 (92) to 6.7 (43). Josh Graham, Lloyd Coulson and Cameron Florance kicked two goals each for the Saints. Brad Crabb was named best on ground for the winners and he was well supported by Peter Hoban, Graham, Cameron Florance and Damon Weatherspoon. Best players for Wisanger included Brok Viney-Obst, Jai Turner and Brodee Williams.


Kingscote are through to Saturday’s preliminary final after defeating Parndana by 86 points in the knockout final at Kingscote yesterday. Kingscote led all day to win 14.14 (98) to 2.0 (12). Riley Mattner kicked five goals for Kingscote and Anthony Anderson kicked three majors. James Davis and Korelle Wintinna kicked Parndana’s two goals. Zak Siemer, Frank Colman, Mattner, Paul Green and Jordan Connell were named best players for Kingscote. Best players for the Roosters included Ben Gaskin, Bailey Mashford and Frank May.
