Western Districts continued their undefeated start to 2024 with a 128-point win against Kingscote during round six action in the Kangaroo Island Football League (KIFL) yesterday. Western Districts captain Lleyton Hedges kicked six goals and former Port Adelaide skipper Tom Jonas Kicked five as the Saints won 21.14 (140) to 2.0 (12). Raymond Walker kicked both of Kingscote’s goals. Best players for the Saints included Caleb Whittle, Henry Hammat, Tom Jonas, Sam Jonas and Tim Larcombe. Best for the Hounds included Jacob Spark, Paul Green and Luke Mackie.
Wisanger consolidated their top-two spot with a comprehensive 102-point win against Dudley United. Wisanger led by 33 points at halftime, before kicking 14 goals to two to win 23.7 (145) to 5.13 (43). Khyal Stead kicked seven goals for the Panthers, while Brok Viney-Obst, Luke Shurven and Sam Clifford kicked three goals each. Sam Willson and Brent Kirby kicked two goals each for the Eagles. Best players for Wisanger included Luke Shurven, Viney-Obst, Darcy Kildea, Liam Sampson and Jesse Rule. Tait Florance, Toby Wheaton, Korbyn Childs, Keenan Jacobs and Dylan Bunney were named best for Dudley United.
