Grand Final (2.15pm Saturday 14 September @ Kingscote)

Minor premier Western Districts Saints will take on Parndana Roosters in the Kangaroo Island Football League (KIFL) Grand Final at Kingscote Oval on Saturday. The Saints are playing in their third Grand Final in a row while it’s been five years since the Roosters have made it to the decider.

These two teams have met on four occasions this season with Western Districts winning three of them including a thrilling five-point victory in the second semi-final. Parndana bounced back from that disappointment with a solid 27-point win in the Preliminary Final against Wisanger to give them another crack at the Saints.

Rhys Bullard, Tim Larcombe and Josh Graham have been excellent contributors for Western Districts this season along with leading goalkicker Lloyd Coulson who has slotted 41 majors in 2019. Nathan Trethewey and Reece Johnston have been excellent focal points in attack for Parndana with the pair booting 106 goals between them this season. If they can be contained it will go a long way towards Western Districts winning the game.

It’s very hard to pick a winner but I’m going for the Roosters to overturn the second semi-final result and notch premiership number 19 in a thriller. My tip...Parndana by seven points.

In the other Grand Finals, Western Districts will take on Kingscote in the Reserves at 12.30pm and Kingscote clash with Dudley United in the Senior Colts from 11.00am.
