Saints win Grand Final rematch in Kangaroo Island Football

Western Districts got their Kangaroo Island Football League (KIFL) season off to the perfect start with a 23-point win over 2023 premiers Kingscote in the Grand Final rematch at Kingscote yesterday. The Saints led at every change before winning 14.9 (93) to 9.16 (70). Bradley Crabb kicked seven goals in a best-on-ground performance for Western Districts, while Cameron Florance kicked three majors. Lachie Ingerson (4) and Paul Green (3) were the leading goalkickers for Kingscote. Other good players for the Saints included Jake Nolan, Joshua Graham, Thomas Schmidt and Rhys Bullard. Best for Kingscote were Riley Puckridge, Rory Lovering, Lachie Ingerson, Zak Siemer and Jacob Spark.


Wisanger also started their season well with a tight 13-point win against Dudley United at Penneshaw. The final scores were Wisanger 13.13 (91) to Dudley United 12.6 (78). Khyal Stead kicked five goals for the Panthers, while Ronan Wood also kicked five goals for the Eagles. Liam Sampson, Samuel Clifford, Darcy Kildea, Nicholas Shurven and Luke Shurven were named best for Wisanger, while for Dudley United, Wood, Brent Kirby and Tait Florance were among their best. 


Parndana had the bye.
