The summer school holidays have started and there are shedloads of fun activities on offer across the region in the lead up to Christmas.

Here is a sample of what is available for kids and families at low or no cost:

ALDINGA 

Father Christmas will be at Aldinga Central Shopping Centre from Friday 17 to Thursday 23 December between 10am and 4pm.

There will be free elf activities on 13, 15, 16, 20, 22 and 23 December from 11am to 3pm.

GOOLWA

The Rotary Club of Goolwa presents a Christmas Concert on Sunday 12 December, supported by Goolwa Lions, combined Churches, and Alexandrina Council.

Enjoy carols, singing and entertainment from a cast of over 100 local entertainers, accompanied by the Goolwa Concert Band.

Take your own seats or picnic rug and refreshments. Disability access, parking, and special needs area available.

Two sessions: 3pm and 6.30pm at the Goolwa Oval Precinct, on Goyder Street.

MCLAREN VALE

Christmas movie The Polar Express will screen at the McLaren Vale Hall on Tuesday 17 December at 1.30pm and 7pm. Tickets cost $5; children aged 5 and under free. Book via TryBooking.

MIDDLETON

Build a Lego Christmas village at the inclusive Bucklands Community on Port Elliot Road on Tuesday 21 December from 10am to 3pm. Cost $5.

ONKAPARINGA

Kids craft, Christmas storytime and decorating gingerbread are just a few of the activities offered at Onkaparinga Libraries in the next two weeks.

VICTOR HARBOR

Christmas crafts are on the agenda at Victor Harbor library from Wednesday 15 December. Check out the full program and book via Eventbrite.

Victor Central Shopping Centre offers free kids’ Christmas activities on Saturday 11 December from 10.30am to 1.30pm and Father Christmas will visit with free goody bags for all the children from Saturday 18 to Friday 24 December from 10.30am to 1.30pm.

There is a Christmas-themed photo stand and Lions Club gift wrapping, cakes and raffle will be available from Friday 17 to Friday 24 December between 9.30am and 4pm.
