School holiday fun starts

The Easter eggs and hot cross buns are done but the school holidays have just begun.

 

Here are some of the free and low-cost family activities available on the Fleurieu in the first week.

 

Aldinga

 

Aldinga Central Shopping Centre offers the following free activities for children of all ages from 11am to 2pm in the Atrium.

 

Monday 12 April – Glitter Tattoos

Wednesday 14 April – Carnival Day

Friday 16 April – Wrapped Yarn Art

Wednesday 14 April – Medieval Madness. 11am-12.30pm. Ages 8+.

Adelaide Sword Academy will storm the library to give sword and fencing instruction, along with games, activities and stories about knights and chivalry.

 

Friday 16 April - Medieval Green Screen. 10.30-11.30am. Ages 5+.

Travel back to the middle-ages with a medieval green screen. Have your photo taken with dragons and castles, and decorate a frame for your photo. 

 


Goolwa

 

Tuesday 13 April

Pirate Craft Goolwa Library, Cadell Street. 10-11am.

Make an old-world pirate treasure map on water colour paper and decorate a treasure chest ready to store all your treasures.

 

Wednesday 14 April

Juggling vs Magic Centenary Hall, Cadell Street - 11am.

Get ready for skills, spills and thrills when a juggler and a magician face off in a showbiz grudge match. Watch their ultimate signature moves over three rounds and vote to decide the winner. Bookings: www.visitalexandrina.com

Thursday 15 April

Mermaids and Sailors exhibition at Signal Point Gallery, Goolwa Wharf Precinct.

Mermaids are a favourite fabled creature inspiring poetry, paintings, song and more. This exhibition brings together a mixed group of artists producing engaging and rich art work in a diverse range of media. Runs until 30 May.
