Police are trying to identify the owners of stolen household items after a string of break ins on the Fleurieu Peninsula.


Between April and July a number of holiday homes throughout the Fleurieu, including Currency Creek, Middleton, Hayborough and Chiton were broken in to with a large number of house hold items, including lamps, ornaments, side tables, mirrors, electronics and baskets stolen.


On Friday 5 July, following an investigation, Victor Harbor police attended a Victor Harbor home and arrested a 31-year-old man. Inside the man’s house police located a large number of items suspected of having been stolen. He was charged with theft and unlawful possession and remanded in custody to reappear on 6 August at VHMC. CO2400025771


On Saturday 13 July police also arrested and charged a 43-year-old woman with unlawful possession. She was bailed to appear in the Victor Harbor Magistrates Court on 2 September.


So far police have identified five victims and returned approximately 50 property items. Victor Harbor police ask home owners to check security on their homes and to report any break ins or stolen property that may be linked.
