Police have now arrested a second suspect for copper theft in the Fleurieu.
On 20 December, Hills Fleurieu CIB and STAR Group officers tracked down a 39-year-old man of no fixed address.
Following extensive inquiries, police searched a property at Hartley in relation to the recent theft of a large amount of copper from a Strathalbyn business and arrested the suspect.
He was charged with serious criminal trespass, theft and property damage. He did not apply for bail and will appear in the Mount Barker Magistrates Court today.
A 45-year-old Hindmarsh Island man was arrested as part of this investigation on 13 December.
