The Fleurieu Coast has again borne the brunt of recent winter storms, with more damage done to the Second Valley jetty causeway this week.
Part of the heritage listed stone causeway has collapsed and District Council of Yankalilla Mayor Darryl Houston told ABC radio it could take some time to repair as only certain people are qualified to do such work.
Second Valley Caravan Park & Jetty Store posted to Facebook that the jetty held up well, but the stone walkway just past the bridge that has sustained damage.
The jetty has now been closed, joining the Normanville jetty and other facilities in the region in need of significant repairs following storm damage in May and June.
Very high tides, strong winds and heavy surf have impacted jetties, causeways and beach stairs at Normanville, Carrickalinga, Second Valley, Rapid Bay, Myponga Beach and Cape Jervis.
The council was forced to close its own offices on Tuesday 8 July due to a power outage caused by storm damage.
