Users of telecommunications networks on the Fleurieu and Kangaroo Island have been asked to complete a survey to assess the effectiveness of the federal government's mobile black spot program.

The community survey aims to evaluate the investment in telecommunications infrastructure to improve mobile coverage and competition across Australia’s regions.

The Mobile Black Spot Program is supported by co-contributions from state and local governments, national mobile network operators and mobile network infrastructure providers.

Under the program, 1,400 new mobile phone tower base stations have been delivered to enhance mobile coverage.

Feedback is now being sought as part of an evaluation process on how those stations are performing in the following areas on the Fleurieu and Kangaroo Island.

  • Ashbourne
  • Gosse/Stokes Bay
  • Kangaroo Island East
  • Kuitpo
  • Stokes Bay
  • Kanmantoo
  • Parawa
  • Wistow to Strathalbyn (Long Valley Road)

The community survey is anonymous and will take about 5-10 minutes to complete. It will remain open until 31 October 2024.

More information about the Black Spot program can be found online.
