Set clothes free collection day

A change in seasons can be a good opportunity to clean out the cupboards and wardrobes and get rid of unwanted linen and clothes.

This autumn Green Industries SA is partnering with local councils, including City of Victor Harbor and City of Onkaparinga, and charities to help South Australians donate and recycle.

There will be eight collection points around Adelaide on Saturday 24 May from 9am to 3pm, including two on the Fleurieu.

Donated clothing and footwear will be sorted and distributed to the participating charitable organisations for resale. It should be clean and in good enough condition to be worn.

Bedding, bath towels, and tea towels can also be donated. Pure and blended polyester and cotton household linen, in any condition, will also be accepted. It will be sorted, decommissioned and recycled.

The collection points cannot accept doonas or pillows, mattresses and mattress protectors, woollen blankets, bathmats with a backing, or microfibre items.

The Victor Harbor drop-off point will be at the Civic Centre car park on Bay Road.

The Onkaparinga drop-off point will be at the field operations centre at the Salvos Stores in Seaford Meadows.
