Alexandrina Council has confirmed the dates for the next SA Wooden Boat Festival, which will be held in 2025.

It has told residents and visitors to save the date for the weekend of 26 and 27 April 2025, with the event returning to the upgraded Goolwa Wharf Precinct.

After securing $50,000 in state grant funding for two biennial events in late 2024 and early 2026, the SA Tourism Commission has agreed to a SA Wooden Boat Festival Committee request to change the timing to 2025 and April 2027.

This change in dates will allow time for the Goolwa Wharf Precinct project to be completed for the event; it is scheduled for completion in late 2024.

The 2023 South Australian Wooden Boat Festival drew a crowd of more than 12,000 attendees to Hindmarsh Island's Alexandrina Cove.

The event was a finalist in the 2023 SA Tourism Awards.
