Heavy rainfall occurring with thunderstorms this morning.
The Bureau of Meteorology warns that, at 7:50 am, severe thunderstorms were detected on the weather radar near Mount Barker, Yankalilla and Tea Tree Gully.
They are forecast to affect Strathalbyn, Meadows and Mount Compass by 8:20 am and Victor Harbor, Mount Pleasant and Goolwa by 8:50 am.
Heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding is likely.
Brownhill Creek (Scotch College) recorded 45.8mm in 1 hour to 07:02am.
Belair (St Johns) recorded 36.6mm in the 2 hrs to 07:47am.
Bellevue Heights recorded 38.8mm in the 2 hrs to 07:57am.
The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Don't drive, ride or walk through flood water.
* Keep clear of creeks and storm drains.
* Stay indoors, away from windows, while storms are nearby.
The next warning is due to be issued by 9:00 am.
A more general severe thunderstorm warning is also current for the Adelaide Metropolitan, Mount Lofty Ranges, Mid North, Riverland and parts of the Yorke Peninsula, Kangaroo Island, Murraylands, Flinders, Upper South East and North East Pastoral districts.
Warnings are also available through TV and Radio broadcasts, the Bureau's website at www.bom.gov.au or call 1300 659 210. The Bureau and State Emergency Service would appreciate warnings being broadcast regularly.
