The Bureau of Meteorology issued the following advice at 7.20pm on Friday evening.
For people in Barossa, Onkaparinga, Yankalilla, Victor Harbor, Mount Barker, Adelaide Hills, Gawler, Adelaide, Western Alexandrina and Playford council areas.

Weather Situation:Scattered thunderstorms are merging into a broad area of heavy rain and thunderstorms over the Adelaide Region
The Bureau of Meteorology warns that, at 8:00 pm, severe thunderstorms were detected on the weather radar near Adelaide City, Glenelg, Noarlunga, Mount Barker, Strathalbyn and Victor Harbor. These thunderstorms are moving towards the southeast. They are forecast to affect Elizabeth, Salisbury and Tea Tree Gully by 8:30 pm and Gawler, Mount Pleasant and Birdwood by 9:00 pm.
Heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding and damaging winds are likely.
In the last 2 hours, there has been 36 at Aldgate, 34 mm at Crafers, 28 mm at Burnside and 24 mm at Pooraka
The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Secure or put away loose items around your property.
* Move cars under cover or away from trees.
* Keep clear of fallen power lines.
* Don't drive, ride or walk through flood water.
* Keep clear of creeks and storm drains.
* Stay indoors, away from windows, while storms are nearby.
The next warning is due to be issued by 9:15 pm.
A more general severe thunderstorm warning is also current for the Adelaide Metropolitan, Mount Lofty Ranges, Lower Eyre Peninsula, Eastern Eyre Peninsula, Yorke Peninsula, Flinders, Mid North, Kangaroo Island, Riverland, Murraylands, Upper South East, Lower South East, North West Pastoral and parts of the West Coast and North East Pastoral districts.
