A severe weather warning has been issued by the Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology for damaging winds for people in Kangaroo Island, Lower Eyre Peninsula, Eastern Eyre Peninsula and parts of the West Coast and Yorke Peninsula.
Weather Situation: A vigorous northerly airstream developing ahead of a cold front in the west.
Northerly winds will increase during Monday morning, with damaging wind gusts of 90 to 100 km/h possible over the warning area from around sunrise. Winds may also briefly average 55 to 65 km/h.
The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Move vehicles under cover or away from trees;
* Secure or put away loose items around your property.
* Stay indoors, away from windows, while conditions are severe.
Warnings are also available through TV and Radio broadcasts, the Bureau's website at www.bom.gov.au or call 1300 659 210. The Bureau and State Emergency Service would appreciate warnings being broadcast regularly.
