Severe weather warning for Fleurieu

Severe Thunderstorm Warning - Adelaide Region for Heavy Rainfall for Yankalilla and parts of Victor Harbor council areas. See map for details.


Issued at 12:40 pm Sunday, 7 January 2024.


HEAVY RAINFALL for the following areas: Yankalilla and Victor Harbor The Bureau of Meteorology warns that, at 12:40 pm, severe thunderstorms likely to produce heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding were detected near Yankalilla and Normanville.


These thunderstorms are moving towards the southeast. They are forecast to affect Parawa, Wirrina Cove and Deep Creek Conservation Park by 1.10 pm and Waitpinga Beach by 1.40 pm.


The State Emergency Service advises that people should:

  • Don't drive, ride or walk through flood water.
  • Keep clear of creeks and storm drains.
  • Stay indoors, away from windows, while storms are nearby.


A more general severe thunderstorm warning is also current for the Adelaide Metropolitan, Mount Lofty Ranges and parts of the Yorke Peninsula, Mid North, Murraylands and Upper South East districts.
