Sharks circle for their first win in Southern Football League Women's

Aldinga won their first game of the season after defeating Ironbank Cherry Gardens by 46 points during round five action in the Southern Football League Women’s (SFLW) competition at Cherry Gardens yesterday. Emmerson Pope kicked two goals for Aldinga, while their best players were Kimberly Thomson, Daisy Barber, Tayla Redshaw, Taryn Vizgaudis, Pope and Molly Reynolds. Best players for Ironbank Cherry Gardens were Tahlia Ward, Jessie O’Brien, Lauren Kahl, Rebecca Watson, Emma Byatt and Audrey Myers.


Flagstaff Hill remained undefeated after a comprehensive 114-point win against Christies Beach yesterday. The Falcons led by 40 points at quarter time, 64 points at halftime, and 103 points at the last change, before winning 16.18 (114) to 0.0 (0). Jessica Couch, for the second time this season, kicked 10 goals for the Falcons to take her season tally to 40 majors from just five games. Best players for ‘Flaggies’ included Melanie Koster, Tiana Lush, Couch, Abbie Butler, Ebony Scanlan and Nicole O'Connor. Christies Beach was best served by Tara Vivar-Hayes, Chloe Brooks, Lekisha Nelson, Georgia Payne, Hayley Haire and Bella Wheatley.


Reynella won their third game of the season after defeating Hackham by 32 points at Hackham yesterday. The Wine Flies were inaccurate but did enough to win 6.16 (52) to 3.2 (20). Sarah Bourn kicked three goals for Reynella, while Katelyn Wilson kicked two goals for Hackham. Sienna Garner, Miller Thompson, Caitlin Williams, Tayla Wright, Bourn and Elysia Hammond were named best players for Reynella. Best for the Hawks included Wilson, Alana Browne, Shayley MacFadyen, Caitlin Curyer, Natasha Robertson, Claire Wheeler.


Cove consolidated their spot in the top-four after defeating Blackwood by 39 points at Hallett Cove yesterday. The Cobras triumphed 6.4 (40) to 0.1 (1) with Ella Gill, Jaymie Savaidis, Jaime Norup, Dana O'Brien, Hayley Donnell and Eve Disley named their best players. Blackwood’s best players were Jade Quinn, Caitlin Hill, Ella Parris, Holly Winchester and Carys Vassallo.


Port Noarlunga had the bye.
