Sharks on the attack in the Southern Football League Women's competition

Aldinga won their second game of the season following an upset 10-point win against Cove during round seven action in the Southern Football League Women’s ‘A’ grade competition yesterday. Aldinga started well to lead by 13 points at quarter time and this lead would prove too hard for Cove to peg back as the Sharks eventually won 3.1 (19) to 1.3 (9). Darlene Bishop, Holly Wilde and Eilish O’Hanlon were the goalkickers for the Sharks, while Lauren Pattimore kicked the Cobras’ only goal. Eilish O’Hanlon, Kimberly Robinson, Jemma Looyestyn, Ayla Regione and Amber O’Hanlon were named best for Aldinga. Cove were best served by Dana O’Brien, Ella Gill, Ashleigh Need, Alesia LeDuff and Jasmine Dietrich.

Flagstaff Hill consolidated second spot on the ladder with a tough 13-point win at Port Noarlunga. The Falcons kicked the only two goals of the game through Ebony Scanlan and Sienna Chapman as the reigning premier won 2.2 (14) to 0.1 (1). Scanlan was named best player for ‘Flaggies’ and she was well supported by Alana Baker, Chloe Meyers, Tamsyn Morriss, Nicole O’Connor and Jasmin Partridge. ‘Porties’ best were Belinda Gale, Belinda Macrow, Sheridan Poland, Jolie Malinowski, Deanna Ortuso and Shakira Dolman.

Christies Beach moved into the top-four on the ladder with a convincing 110-point win against Hackham. 'Christies' led by 39 points at quarter time, 58 points at halftime and 87 points at the last change before winning 15.20 (110) to 0.0 (0). Emily Risitano was a star up forward for the Saints with five goals and she was well supported by Sarah Nottle who kicked four goals.
