Noarlunga have got themselves into finals calculations after winning their third game in a row, this time by four points against Cove, during round 11 action in the Southern Football League (SFL) at Old Noarlunga on Saturday. Noarlunga kicked an accurate 11.2 (68) to Cove 9.10 (64), as the Cobras were left to rue an inaccurate 1.5 in the final term. Best players for the Shoes included Callum Gaspari, Nick Mott, Jake Birch, Sam Goldfinch, Brad Inglis and Dylan Brockenbrow. Cove was best served by Lachlan Hayes, Ryan Need, Aaron Reich, James Farrugia and Louis Piva.
Happy Valley moved back to the top of the ladder on percentage, after a whopping 214-point win at Morphett Vale. The Vikings led by 85 points at halftime, before kicking 22 goals to two in the second half to win 36.24 (240) to 3.8 (26). Nick Kraemer had a day out with 14 goals for the Vikings (45 for the season), while Harry Vick kicked five majors. Other good players for Happy Valley included Sebastian Oliver, Dylan Strickland, Luke Edwards and Harry Spacie. Best players for the Emus were Bailey Sowter, Braydan Hartwig, Joel Handreck, Bradley Lang, Jai Robinson and Toby Irlam.
Port Noarlunga won their ninth game of the season after a comprehensive 116-point win over Ironbank Cherry Gardens. ‘Porties’ led at every change before winning 23.19 (157) to 6.5 (41). Port Noarlunga had 13 different goalkickers with Daniel Flavel and Oliver Petrohilos kicking three goals each. Jak Goudman-Glasson was a standout for the Thunderers as he kicked all six of his team's goals. Best players for Port Noarlunga included Nathaniel Paredes, Flavel, Todd Mckay, Darcy Warman and Ryan Kelly. Ironbank Cherry Gardens was best served by Chase Wooley, Isaac Hoepfl, Goudman-Glasson, Levi Grigg, Jacob Campbell and Jake Pokoina.
Flagstaff Hill won their seventh game in a row following their 112-point win at Aldinga. ‘Flaggies’ won every quarter on their way to a 20.17 (137) to 3.7 (25) victory. Falcons skipper Nathan Beenham kicked seven goals, while Reece Milsom kicked four goals in a best-on-ground display. Other good players for Flagstaff Hill included Mitchell Johnson, Cameron Blake, Bradley Patterson and Aiden Grayson. Best players for the Sharks were Angus Stangewitz, Ariki Lowe, Shaun Williams, Brayden Hooper, Logan Edwards and Joel Cartwright.
Reynella kept the pressure on for a top-three spot with a 113-point win over Christies Beach. SFL leading goalkicker Bailey Marshman kicked 12 goals in a best-on-ground performance (58 for the season) to fire his side to the 24.15 (159) to 7.4 (46) win. Jake Agnew kicked six goals for the Wine Flies, while other good players were Talon Copley, Matthew Stanford, Tyler Davies and Dylan Roser. Best players for the Saints included Callum Bennett (2 goals), Mackenzie Nield, Michael Mazey, Joshua Semmens, Ethan Taylor and Zak Short (3 goals).
