The open male and female competitors at the national championships will gain Street Skateboarding qualifying points towards the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

Alexandrina Council is sponsoring the event to showcase its world class skate park at Starthalbyn, set amongst landscaped gardens with sheltered picnic areas, a playground and basketball ring.

The park has a challenging bowl for the extremists as well as more relaxing street and ramp arrangements.

Goolwa and Mount compass also have top quality skate parks, alongside BMX tracks and pump tracks open to all ages and skill levels.

The YMCA will hold free community skateboarding clinics at Strathalbyn on Saturday 1 February in the lead up to the ASL event.

Register on the day, 20 minutes prior to the session, and learn to skate with a professional, with skateboards and protective gear provided.  Session times are 11am, 12.30pm, 1.30pm and 3pm.

For further information contact YMCA or Council’s Tourism Coordinator on 8555 7000.
