With a delightful Indian summer lingering through autumn there are still snakes about the place.
Willunga Environment Centre will host a snake awareness workshop on Saturday 10 April.
Nadia from Radicool Reptiles will guide participants through what to do in the event of a snake encounter, snake bite first aid, ways in which to reduce snake activity in and around the home and the importance of snakes in the natural environment.
“A good snake is one that’s very much alive and helping to strengthen our ecosystems," she says.
A passionate wildlife advocate, Nadia will be accompanied by five venomous snakes in a display cabinet and a couple of pythons native to SA.
She and her team will also bring a few species of lizard found in and around the backyard and she will talk about how to encourage wildlife into your surroundings.
Supported by Sustainable Onkaparinga, the workshop will run from 10am to 12noon at the Willunga Uniting Church, 33 St Andrews Terrace.
Bookings are essential, via Eventbrite.
