Willunga Environment Centre will host a workshop on soil health on Wednesday 23 February.
It will be held both online and in person at the centre in High Street, Willunga, between 6.30pm and 9pm.
Soil Scientist and farming system specialist Rebecca Tonkin has had15 years’ experience supporting farmers to improve soil health and pasture health.
Recently she has been helping farmers to improve pH and reduce acidity in soils.
Her workshop will introduce basic soil characteristics and functions and discuss how soil feeds plants – and how plants feed soil.
She will demonstrate how to do basic soil testing and talk about common soil issues and how to correct them.
Those attending in person can take along some soil for testing.
Those unable to attend in person can join the workshop online via Zoom.
The event is free, but bookings are essential via Eventbrite. A link will be sent by the Environment Centre prior to the session.
