Sophie helps regrow gardens on KI

Gardening Australia presenter Sophie Thompson will visit Kangaroo Island from 12-15 June to help distribute donated fruit trees to fire affected gardeners.

She will also run a series of free workshops on dealing with garden pests and diseases and on planning a garden patch from scratch.

The talks and workshops have been designed for those who are rebuilding after the bushfires and those who are supporting their garden recovery.

Garden Woes - Dealing with Seasonal Pests and Diseases in the Veggie Garden will be held at 6pm on Friday 12 June at the Parndarna Bowling Club and at 10am on Monday 15 June at the KI Community Centre in Kingscote.

Starting Your Patch from Scratch will be held at 10 am on Saturday 13 June at the Parndarna Bowling Club and at 2pm on Sunday 14 June at the KI Community Centre in Kingscote.

All sessions run for two hours and include supper or morning or afternoon tea.

Places are strictly limited due to COVID-19 restrictions and so must be booked by emailing Madelyn Kelly for Parndana and Maree Baldwin for Kingscote.

Organisers ask that if you book in but are unable to attend that you let them know so they can offer the place to someone else.
