The clocks go back tonight, Saturday 1 April, as daylight saving ends and Sunday night will see the south coast plunged into darkness with a scheduled blackout.
SA Power Networks has scheduled critical work at the Victor Harbor substation that will require power to be turned off from 10pm on Sunday 2 April until 6am Monday 3 April.
It will affect almost 13,000 households and businesses in Victor Harbor and surrounding areas.
The overnight outage will allow crews to replace electrical equipment, which SA Power Networks says is essential to managing the power supply to the area and will minimise the impact of future unplanned outages.
It says it has tried to pick the best time to do this work, balancing the tourism and holiday aspects of the area, and the overnight Sunday-to Monday timeslot will be the least disruptive.
