Main South Road is undergoing a repair blitz between Aldinga Beach Road and Sellicks Beach Road.
Pavement patching works started this week on the six-kilometre stretch of Main South Road, fixing potholes and surfacing issues.
Local residents have been complaining about the state of the road for some time.
Minister for Infrastructure and Transport Corey Wingard said maintaining the state’s road network is vital to supporting our communities and saving lives on our regional roads.
“Thousands of motorists living or travelling down south will benefit every day once these patching works along Main South Road are complete, enjoying a far smoother and safer journey.
“Contractors will be repairing more than 115 different sites where the road surface is worn or damaged in a two-week blitz between Aldinga Beach Road and Sellicks Beach Road.
“This type of work isn’t sexy but it is important and will make a tangible and noticeable change to the every day lives of South Australian motorists.
“We expect the night works to be completed by early December, well in time for a busy Christmas season and paving the way for holidaymakers to safely head down the coast.”
The works are part of the State Government’s $560 million Fleurieu Connections Package.
