Southern Breakers Soccer Club will hold players Come & Try sessions for the 2024 Season next Wednesday 25 October.
The trials, for senior women and junior boys and girls, will be held at the Port Elliot Showgrounds at 5.15pm.
The senior women’s team is for players aged 18 and over; junior boys start at under 9 through to under 16; junior girls are from under 9 through to under 17.
Aspiring players should register to attend via an online Expression of Interest form.
The Breakers also host 5-A-side come and try sessions every Thursday at the Port Elliot netball courts.
Kids sessions run from 5pm to 6pm and adults from 6pm to 8pm; all players should wear runners rather than boots.
The cost is $2, with a sausage sizzle and drinks available.
Following the Women’s Football World Cup the state government announced an $18 million grant program over the next three years for dedicated female sporting facilities and improvements that grow female participation.
$10 million of the money will be quarantined for soccer, with Football South Australia agreeing to match the grants dollar for dollar through a range of funding sources including clubs, Football Australia, local and federal Government.
All funding will be allocated through an independently assessed grants program managed by the Office of Recreation and Sport, with further details to be announced later this year.
