Southern Hills Netball gets underway Saturday

Southern Hills Netball Association (SHNA) competition gets underway on Saturday with just five teams competing in the A1 grade in a reduced 2020 season. Reigning premier Clarendon, Pulse, Aldinga and Kangarilla return from 2019 and they'll be joined by Noarlunga. Meadows and McLaren Flat will not compete in the A1 competition this year. The season will consist of 10 rounds with each team playing eight games and having two byes. Finals will be held over two weeks with the Grand Final date set for Saturday 12 September.

Perennial powerhouse Clarendon will be tough to beat as usual while Pulse will try to go one better than the previous two seasons when they have been vanquished on Grand Final day by Clarendon. Aldinga were around the mark last season, making the Preliminary Final before going down by eight goals to the eventual premier. Kangarilla endured a winless 2019 campaign and will be looking for sharp improvement this season while Noarlunga have pushed up to the top tier after a solid 2019 season in A2 where they made the semi-finals.

Round 1 games (2.00pm - home team named first)

Aldinga v Clarendon

Kangarilla v Noarlunga
