Aldinga got their Southern Hills Netball Association (SHNA) season off to the perfect start with a 33-27 win over reigning premier Clarendon in A1 competition at Aldinga. In a tight, low-scoring affair, Aldinga held a two goal advantage at the final change before an excellent last quarter, where they scored eight goals to four, saw them win by six goals. It was a similar scoreline at Kangarilla where the home side won 33-26 over newly promoted Noarlunga. Noarlunga led by a goal at quarter time before Kangarilla took a four-goal lead into half time and kept their noses in front until the final whistle. Pulse had the bye in round one.
In A2 competition, Aldinga made it a day to remember with a three goal victory over Clarendon, Seaford Storm started their season strongly with a 22-goal win at Port Noarlunga while Croweaters defeated Noarlunga 39-26.
