The SA Whale Centre has just reported our (hopefully) resident Southern Right Cow and Calf pair have been spotted only 150m offshore from the end of 1st Avenue (Investigator Carpark) in Hayborough at what the locals call Dump Beach. At the moment mum is happy swimming along the coastline between Port Elliot and Victor Harbor each day, so plenty of people are getting the chance to see them which is fantastic!
According to the centre, it is still incredibly important to maintain social distancing when out whale watching this season and to keep washing or sanitising your hands whenever possible. The centre encourages everyone to get out and about to have a look for whales but urges the public to do it safely and respectfully.
Keep your eyes peeled and if you do
see a whale, remember to call the SA Whale Centre on 08 8551 0750, send them a
message on their Facebook page or enter a report online at www.sawhalecentre.com.au.
