The Victor Harbor Library has launched a new program to encourage sustainable food and lifestyle practices in the community.
Just as the first signs of spring are starting to blossom across the Fleurieu Peninsula, the library will offer an exciting new program that focuses on green living.
Sow. Grow. Eat. Repeat! will promote sustainable food and lifestyle practices through a series of educational events and initiatives to be delivered over a three-month period.
The Victor Harbor Library has partnered with a wide range of organisations to develop a comprehensive program of events, including the Fleurieu Permaculture Group, Fleurieu Regional Waste Authority and The Food Embassy Inc.
Highlights to look out for in September include a Grow Free cart, to share home-grown seedlings and produce, and the Fleurieu Peninsula’s first seed library in a public library.
A Food Matters interactive workshop series will start on Thursday 7 September and there will be a seed, seedling and cutting swap on Wednesday 8 September.
For more information visit the library events page or collect a printed program from the Victor Harbor Library at Bay Road.
Event bookings will open online on Thursday 1 September.
Sow. Grow. Eat. Repeat! is supported by an Innovation Grant from the Libraries Board of South Australia and the Government of South Australia.
