The Port Elliot CFS have saved the day again – this time rescuing Specky the Jack Russell, who had been trapped down a rabbit hole for several days above Lady Bay.

His owners had been searching for him without luck after he took off in pursuit of a rabbit on Friday.

This morning, while searching again, they heard him whimpering and found him trapped in a partially collapsed burrow.

The CFS answered the call for help and dug Specky out of trouble.

He was returned to his owners covered in dirt but wagging his tail furiously.
