Operation Safe Long Weekend has not long commenced and a driver has lost his licence after being caught speeding at Willunga.
Just before 6pm on Friday 11 June, police were conducting speed detection duties on Victor Harbor Road, when they detected a Kia SUV travelling north at 152km/h in a 100km/h zone.
The driver, a 49-year-old man from Mount Compass, was issued with a $1780 on the spot fine along with a six month immediate loss of licence.
Police will be taking a no-tolerance approach to blatantly dangerous behaviours like speeding, drink or drug driving, not wearing a seat belt and being distracted. But we can't make your safety decisions for you," Superintendent Bob Gray, Officer in Charge Traffic Services Branch, warns.
