A learner driver was clocked at more than 45 km/h over the speed limit at Willunga Hill last night.

Police detected the vehicle with mobile radar travelling at 147 km/h in a 100 km/h zone on Victor Harbor Road, Willunga Hill about 10.30pm on Sunday 10 August.

The traffic patrol stopped and spoke to the driver, a 21-year-old Burton man.

Police checks revealed he only held a learner's permit and did not have a qualified supervising driver present and was not displaying L plates. He also tested positive to drugs.

He was reported for excessive speed, drug driving, no qualified supervising driver and not displaying L plates, and will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.
