Goolwa’s Fleurieu Distillery was a big winner at last week’s Tasting Australia 2022 Spirit Awards, presented by Mastercask.

The waterside business, based at the Goolwa Wharf, was named Best Distiller in the nation and also took out the inaugural innovation award and best whisky.

Its single malt whisky Never A Dull Moment and blended whisky Country to Coast #3 were judged the best in their categories.

Head distiller GR Andrews has thanked collaborators Brian & Genise Hollingworth from Black Gate Distillery.

“The quality of the blended whisky really does speak for itself.”

The fifth annual Tasting Australia Spirit Awards attracted 328 entries from 77 distillers across Australia, which were blind tasted by a panel of expert judges.

The other South Australian winners were Prohibition Liquor Co for gin and St Agnes Distillery for brandy.
