Police are investigating a stabbing at Morphett Vale.

About 6.45pm on Monday 4 October, police and ambulance crews were called to a house on Pimpala Road after reports of an altercation between a man and a woman.

The woman had allegedly stabbed the man in the arm with a knife.

She then fled the scene by climbing over a fence, sustaining cuts to her hands. She was located by police nearby.

The man was taken to the Flinders Medical Centre for treatment.

Police believe this was not a random incident.

The woman was taken to Noarlunga Hospital.
