The biennial Stationmaster's Art Prize, a celebrated event in the South Australian art community, is now open for entries. This year's theme, In My Garden, invites artists from across the state to explore and express the beauty and diversity of gardens through their art.
Entries for the competition are due by 11 September, 2024. The Stationmaster's Art Gallery in Strathalbyn will showcase 60 selected works during October and November, offering a unique opportunity for artists to gain exposure in one of the region's most respected galleries.
The Stationmaster's Art Prize offers a $1,500 cash award for the first prize, alongside other accolades, including the David Dridan Youth Prize, aimed at encouraging young artists. The gallery, known for its commitment to nurturing local talent, anticipates a strong response from artists eager to capture the theme’s essence.
Artists interested in participating can obtain entry forms directly from the gallery or by calling 8536 4263. The gallery staff will assist with entry details and send forms via email on request.
