Rates will rise by 4.7 per cent under the City of Victor Harbor’s draft 2022/23 Annual Business Plan and Budget.
The draft plan outlines how the council will allocate its budget and what services, programs and projects it intends to undertake in the next financial year.
The draft budget forecasts a capital works program worth $14.8 million, offset by grants and other revenue totalling $5.5 million.
Its operating expenditure will total $32.6 million, resulting in a deficit of $649,600.
The projects outlined include preparation of detailed technical designs for Stage 1 of the proposed Arts and Culture Centre, covering revamp of the Victa Cinema.
The council had previously put on hold the Arts and Culture Centre, following negative community feedback on the proposed design.
Other projects include the proposed Regional Community, Sport and Recreation Precinct, as well as new and renovated public toilets for the Bluff Boat Ramp and Investigator Car Park.
Construction works for the delayed Stage 4 of the Victor Harbor Mainstreet Precinct Upgrade also come under the plan; plus construction of a new stable complex for the horse tram.
The City of Victor Harbor wants community feedback on its draft 2022/23 Annual Business Plan and Budget.
Full details of the plan and how to have a say are available on the City of Victor Harbor website.
There will also be a public meeting to discuss the draft 2022/23 Annual Business Plan and Budget in the council chambers on Thursday 9 June at 6.30pm.
The consultation period will close at 5pm on Monday, 13 June.
