Yankalilla/Encounter Bay won their second game in a row after a low-scoring 14-point win against Myponga-Sellicks during round 7 action in the Great Southern Football League ‘A’ Grade Women’s competition at Encounter Bay on Friday night. The Stingrays won 2.4 (16) to 0.2 (2) with Dani Brown and Jemima Althorp kicking their goals. Best players for Yankalilla/Encounter Bay were Mahli Littlely, Amelia Bilney, Jemma Ellis, Czenya Cavouras, Althorp and Tyler Rigney Garrett. The Mudlarks best were Grace Deacon, Nari Wright, Eden Coleman, Tasiah Wright, Kimberley Gilbert and Brianah Kennewell.
Willunga remained undefeated after a comprehensive 94-point victory over Victor Harbor. The Demons led by 40 points at halftime, before kicking a further eight goals in the second half to win 13.17 (95) 0.1 (1). Jessica Kirk kicked four goals for Willunga, while Tamara Page kicked two majors. Caitlin Radbone, Kirk, Bella Rigby, Page, Cleo Guilfoyle and Jodie Hunt were named Willunga’s best players.
McLaren Districts won their third game in a row after defeating Goolwa/Port Elliot by 18 points at McLaren Vale yesterday. The Eagles won 4.2 (26) to 1.2 (8) to consolidate their spot in the top-two. Esther Rayner, Alycia Hepburn, Ally Bailey, Bianca Coom, Mia Hamilton and Mia Dunn were named best for McLaren Districts, while Ellie Fry, Indi Miller, Georgina Thomas, Lucy Earl, Cassie Burrows and Lilli Mitchell were named best for the Magpies.
