Stingrays move into the top-four in the GSFLW 'A' Grade

Yankalilla/Encounter Bay won their second game of the season to move inside the top-four, after an upset 41-point win against Goolwa/Port Elliot during round 6 action in the Great Southern Football League ‘A’ Grade Women’s competition at Goolwa on Friday night. Matisse Hunter kicked three goals for the Stingrays to lead them to a 6.11 (47) to 0.6 (6) victory. Other good players for the winners included Jemma Ellis, Halle James, Czenya Cavouras, Achol Agany and Taylor Haywood. The Magpies were best served by Indi Miller, Lucy Earl, Lily Jenke, Cassie Burrows, Madison Bayley and Ellie Fry.


Willunga remained undefeated after a hard-fought 17-point win against Myponga-Sellicks at Myponga. The Demons started well to lead by 18 points at halftime, before winning 4.5 (29) to 2.0 (12). Sarah Stanbury kicked two goals for the Mudlarks, while their best players were Grace Deacon, Eden Coleman, Tayte Mathewson, Lily-Rose Garner and Stanbury.

McLaren Districts consolidated their spot in the top-two after a comfortable 37-point win against Victor Harbor. The Eagles led at every change to win 6.4 (40) to 0.3 (3) with Sally Fuller kicking two majors. Best players for McLaren Districts included Ally Bailey, Layla Rogers, Esther Rayner, Eva Petrucci, Kiera Harvey and Natasha Threadgold. Victor Harbor was best served by Skye Kartinyeri-Sumner, Jaimee Millard, Olivia Nobbs, Zoe Bartholomaeus, Tyla Millard and Rebecca Baga.
