A man has been arrested overnight after being involved in a pursuit in a stolen vehicle.
At 12.55am Thursday 13 July police were travelling along Main South Road O’Halloran Hill when they observed a black Hyundai sedan stationary on the side of the road. Checks revealed that the vehicle had been reported stolen from a Seaford Meadows address on Wednesday 12 July.
As police approached the vehicle it took off and refused to pull over. The vehicle engaged in a pursuit with police along Main South Road, Panatalinga Road, Wheatsheaf Road and Doctors Road before the pursuit was terminated.
A short time later the vehicle was sighted in Aldinga by police before Polair began tracking the vehicle. The vehicle was tracked to Roberts Road, Hackham West where the driver decamped from the vehicle. The driver was located nearby on Glynville Road where he was placed under arrest.
The driver, a 46-year-old man from Victoria was charged with driving a motor vehicle without consent, dangerous driving to escape police pursuit and drive disqualified. The man did not apply for bail and will attend the Christies Beach Magistrates Court later today.
