A man has been arrested after a stolen car was recovered at Seaford Meadows last night.

About 10.30pm on Tuesday 17 January, police were called to Coast Guard Road after a Toyota Hilux was reported abandoned in the street.

Checks on the vehicle revealed it had been stolen from a Brighton home over the weekend.

Patrols attended and commenced a search of the area, finding the car’s keys in a nearby bush.

As a result of investigations, police attended a nearby home and arrested a man over the incident.

An 18-year-old man from Seaford Meadows was charged with illegal use of a motor vehicle and bailed to appear in the Christies Beach Magistrates Court on 20 February.
