A woman has been caught allegedly driving nearly nine times over the legal alcohol limit in Strathalbyn late last night.
Just after 11pm on Monday, February 17, police were called to a service station on South Terrace after a witness reported a woman asleep behind the wheel of a white Ford Escape, which was still running.
Police attended and submitted the driver to a breath test, which returned a reading of 0.434—well above the legal limit of 0.05.
The 41-year-old Mannum woman was reported for drink driving, issued an immediate 12-month loss of licence, and had her car impounded for 28 days. She will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.
